Player guide

Link your Microsoft account, keep it up to date, and fix common problems.

Before you start

You need three things:

  • A Discord account, in a server that uses Miney.Link.
  • A Microsoft account that owns Minecraft, or that you play on with an Xbox profile. If you play Bedrock and sign in with only an Xbox account, that works too.
  • A couple of minutes. You sign in to Discord once and to Microsoft once. Nothing is typed in by hand.

Link your account

  1. In Discord, type /link and press the button it shows. Or open the server's menu, choose Linked Roles, find Miney.Link and press Connect. You can also start from your dashboard.
  2. Discord asks you to approve Miney.Link. It only needs to know who you are and to set your Linked Roles status.
  3. Sign in with your Microsoft account. This is Microsoft's own sign-in page. Miney.Link never sees your password.
  4. A confirmation page shows your Java username and Bedrock username and which editions were found. Go back to Discord and your roles update, usually straight away.

If a role does not appear, press Connect again from Linked Roles, or type /link. /help lists everything the bot can do.

Use the commands anywhere. Type /invite and press Add to my apps to put Miney.Link on your own Discord account. /link, /status and /help then work in any server or DM, even in servers that don't have the bot.

What we check

CheckWhat it tells us
Xbox identityThe Microsoft account exists and has an Xbox profile. This is what verified means.
Java EditionThe account owns Minecraft: Java Edition, including through Game Pass.
Bedrock EditionThe account owns or has played Bedrock. This is a best-effort check, not proof of purchase.

Your dashboard shows your Java Username and your Bedrock Username separately. The Bedrock username is your Xbox gamertag. Elsewhere, where one name is needed (such as the label on your Linked Roles connection), Miney.Link uses your Java name if you have one, and your gamertag otherwise.

If something goes wrong

  • No Xbox profile. Create a free one at xbox.com, then connect again.
  • Family approval needed. Child accounts need a family organizer's approval before they can be linked.
  • Not available in your region, or adult verification needed. Xbox restricts the account. Resolve it with Xbox, then try again.
  • Already linked. One Microsoft account can only be linked to one Discord account. If the other one is yours, sign in to it and unlink.
  • "We couldn't check which editions you own." Your link is saved, but the ownership check was unavailable. Press Connect again later.
  • Cooling-off. If you deleted your account recently, you can use Miney.Link again after 48 hours.

Still stuck? Contact support and include the reference code shown at the bottom of the error page.

Change or remove your link

  • Use a different Microsoft account: press Connect again and pick the other account. It replaces the old link.
  • Update after buying Minecraft: press Connect again. Your editions are re-checked.
  • Unlink: use /unlink in Discord, or Unlink on your account page. This removes your link and clears your roles.
  • Delete everything: use Delete account on your account page. This also starts a 48-hour cooling-off, described in the FAQ.
